Dr.Ying Xing, Professor
Xing YING (应星), Tenured Professor in Department of Sociology and Department of Political Science, Editorial Director of Tsinghua Journal of Social Sciences. His Fields of research include historical sociology, political sociology, legal sociology, the new history of revolution. Professor Ying’s scholarly monographs published in Chinese and English contain Emotions and Contentious Politics in Contemporary Rural China, Petitions and Power: A Story of the Migrants of a Dam in China, etc. Professor Ying has published more than 100 papers in Chinese, English, French and Japanese in academic journals such as Social Science in China, Sociological Studies, Chinese Journal of Law, Modern Chinese History Studies, Positions: Asia Critique, Etudes Rurales, etc. He was awarded as “Outstanding Achievement Award of Philosophy and Social Sciences of Provincial and Ministerial Level”, “Honorary Author Award” in the 30th Anniversary of Sociological Studies, “Excellent Educator of Beijing”, “First Prize of Beijing Teaching Achievement”, “New Century Excellent Talents of Ministry of Education”, etc.
