On Dec 15, 2012, a seminar on the designing of the textbook of Contemporary Chinese Politics and Government was held at Tsinghua’s Political Science Department. Professor Mingming Chen, the Head of the Department of Political Science at Fudan University, Professor Bin Xiao, the vice-dean of the School of Politics & Public Affairs at Sun Yat-sen University, and Professor Yuejin Jing and Dr. Huosheng Tan from Tsinghua’s Political Science Department took part in the seminar.
In the seminar, participants first recalled and examined the general situation of the designing and publishing of textbooks of Chinese Politics and Government, domestically and abroad, and discussed the logic frameworks and argument approaches of these works. They then highlighted a few principle issues in writing and designing textbooks of related topics. Based on that, the participants of the seminar made more particular plans for the task of the next step.
