Three Publications from Department of Political Science at Tsinghua University Selected by The Political Scientist as Most Popular Professional Works of 2023

The Political Scientist has successfully organized four annual book competitions, with more than 50 political science works selected. In this competition, the number of recommended authors and that of recommended books hit new highs.

During the initial nomination, 209 readers and 10 leading publishing houses nominated 177 books;

During online voting, readers cast totally 789,473 votes within ten days;

During expert voting, 100 scholars in political science and 10 experts of the oversight committee cast their votes.

The selection was made through a fairer mechanism and was more rigorously designed.

In order to fully showcase the best works of the year in political science and encourage independent works and interdisciplinary works, the following ten monographs in political science, three interdisciplinary monographs and three translations in political science were finally selected as the "Most Popular Professional Works of The Political Scientist for 2022-2023" based on the results of voting by experts and the selection committee, which were verified by the organizer.

Among these works were The Modernization of Chinese Politics amid Changes Unseen in a Century: an exploration made by the Department of Political Science at Tsinghua University, co-edited by Zhang Xiaojin, Tenured Professor of the Department of Political Science at Tsinghua University, Process-oriented National Governance: The Generation, Effects and Mechanisms of Government Quality, written by Meng Tianguang, Dean of the School of Social Sciences and Tenured Professor of the Department of Political Science, and Politics is the art of the Possible, written by Liu Yu, Tenured Associate Professor of the Department of Political Science.
